On May 7-8, 2018, in Baku, Azerbaijan, regular sessions of the working group and General Meeting of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" were held shortly before the IAPH Baku 2018 World Ports Conference under the theme "Ports of future – building hubs, accelerating connectivity".
The participants of the General Meeting received the information on the volumes of transported cargoes along the TITR (Middle Corridor) for the 1st quarter of 2018, the report of the International Trans-Caspian Transport Consortium (ITTC) for 2017 and the 1st quarter of 2018, as well as interim report and preliminary results of the regular container service, which was launched on a regular basis at the Caspian Sea in early April this year. Also the issues related to the technology of operating on the route, spreading of the approved tariff rates for certain types of cargo, approval of competitive tariff rates for the coal exporting from Kazakhstan towards to the ports of Georgia in gondola wagons, as well as the other operational and commercial issues were discussed.
By the decision of the General Meeting, Mr. Temirkhan Abdirov, the General Director of "Batumi Sea Port" LLC, and Mr. Yevgen Kravtsov, Acting Chairman of the Management Board of "Ukrainian Railway" PJSC were elected to the composition of Managing Board of the Association.
"NMSK "Kazmortransflot" LLP (Kazakhstan) and "Anaklia Development Consortium" LLC (Georgia) joined the Association as new Associate members.
During May, 8-11 Association also presented the opportunities of TITR (Middle Corridor) at the exhibition held within the framework of the IAPH 2018 World Ports Conference. In work of these events representatives of the Association held a number of business meetings aimed to attract additional cargoes to the route and its further development.
