Trans-Caspian international transport route took part in the III Economic Railway Forum in Cracow

September 10, 2019, in Cracow (Poland), the III Economic Railway Forum "PKP LHS – a key element in the logistics supply chain" was organized by an associate member of TITR – PKP Broad Gauge Metallurgical Railway Line Ltd.

The event was actively attended by freight forwarders, logistics operators and rail carriers from Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, Poland as well as exporters and importers, agricultural producers and processing companies.

Representatives of the regular members of the TITR Association from Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, Georgian Railway JSC, as well as delegates from the International Trans-Caspian Transport Consortium (ITTC) – ADY Container LLC, also participated to the forum. On behalf of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" spoke the Secretary General – Mr. Rakhmetolla Kudaibergenov, who presented to the forum participants the current information and development prospects of TITR (Middle Corridor).

In addition, as part of the event, a signing ceremony of MoU was held between the TITR Association and the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority. Within the framework of this document, organizations will cooperate in terms of increasing import, export and transit of goods through the seaports of Ukraine following the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, attracting additional freight traffic on the route, in the direction of the sea ports of Ukraine and in the direction of the sea ports of Georgia, and also contributing to the reduction of port charges in the ports of Ukraine for goods arriving and departing along the Middle Corridor.

The Economic Railway Forum is a major event in Poland dedicated to broad gauge logistics.The forum touched upon and discussed in detail transport and logistics issues related to the export of goods from the EU to China.

Reference: The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) is one of the largest state enterprises, which has strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine.

The USPA was founded in 2013 as a result of the maritime industry reform of Ukraine to manage state property in the seaports and to use it efficiently, create mechanisms to attract investments in the port infrastructure for its development and stable business performance. There are other tasks of the USPA, like maintenance of the passport depths of the ports’ water area and ensuring the safety of navigation, etc.
