On September 14-15, 2026, a meeting of the Working Group for the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) was held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
During the meeting, participants discussed the current results of the route's operation, issues related to improving cooperation among its participants, as well as further measures for developing container transportation.
An increase in transit transportation volumes was noted. Based on the results of the first 8 months of 2026, route transportation indicators are close to planned figures, reflecting the stable operation and positive development dynamics of the TITR.
Particular attention was given to improving the organization of container transportation. Participants reviewed draft documents aimed at increasing the efficiency of cooperation among participants in the transportation process, including the draft "Agreement on cooperation and liability measures in organizing freight transportation by container trains along the TITR route using container vessels".
The draft "Agreement on ensuring the loading of container vessels" was also reviewed, providing for coordinated approaches to forming and securing the cargo base for container vessels operating on the route.
The meeting also included a discussion of tariff conditions and delivery times for cargo along the TITR. Participants exchanged proposals on improving the route's competitiveness, optimizing transportation conditions, and ensuring more efficient organization of cargo flow.
In addition, on September 15, Working Group participants made a technical visit to the Port of Burgas, where they familiarized themselves with its infrastructure, key facilities, and cargo-handling capabilities.
The Working Group meeting and the technical visit to the Port of Burgas marked another step in strengthening cooperation among TITR participants, improving the efficiency of the transportation process, and expanding the geography of cargo transportation along the TITR.
