November 5-10, 2019 in Shanghai (China), the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" took part in the second international trade exhibition of Chinese goods – China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2019.
At the exhibition, TITR Association, together with ITTC coordinator (International Trans-Caspian Transport Consortium) KTZ Express JSC were represented by own stands. During the exhibition negotiations and business meetings with Chinese transport and logistics companies were held, focusing to attract additional Chinese goods to the Middle Corridor.
Also, on November 6, 2019, in Brussels (Belgium), the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" participated in the "Second Eurasian Connectivity and Industrial Cooperation Forum". The forum was organized by FERRMED Association, the organization with which the TITR Association signed the MoU on November 21, 2018. The Forum addressed issues of a business-oriented approach to the development of the EU, current and prospective routes of the Eurasian railway, a multimodal freight network, as well as the topics such as high-performance smart trains and terminals, digitalization, data exchange, etc. This year, Forum participants were representatives of transport and logistics, trading companies, associations, business communities and government bodies of the European Union.
On the same dates, along the Middle Corridor, the first container train in direction of the Xian – Istanbul – Prague, for the first time travelled through the Marmaray tunnel under the Bosphorus Strait (Turkey). The new service is the implementation of the agreements reached between TITR members and the People's Government of Shanxi Province as part of the "One Belt – One Way" initiative. The train, consisting of 42 FEU containers with electronics, covered the distance of 8500 kilometres in 20 days, combining the territories of ten countries along the route. The train travelled through Kazakhstan for 72 hours from the Altynkol station to the port of Aktau, and in 30 hours crossed the Caspian Sea on a feeder vessel.
Later, November 13-15, 2019, in Istanbul (Turkey), the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" took part in the Logitrans International Transport Logistics Exhibition 2019.
The exhibition was also attended by TITR and ITTC members – Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, NC Aktau Sea Commercial Port JSC, Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, Port Kuryk LLP, ADY Express LLC and ADY Container LLC, which demonstrated the transport potential of Middle Corridor, and presented to visitors the current service of TITR. During the event, meetings and negotiations were held with representatives of MSC, MAERSK, CMA CGM LOG, as well as with Turkish transport and logistics companies.
