January 23, 2020, in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" held the presentation on the topic of "Middle Corridor – the Trans-Caspian Bridge of Cooperation and Interaction between Europe and Asia" for the representatives of the embassies, diplomatic missions and international organizations.

The event aims at further integration of Middle Corridor into the global transport logistics system and international relations, while on the practical side, to attract more participants, promote and diversify TITR opportunities.

The presentation was opened by Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Beibut Atamkulov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev. In the welcoming remarks and special address speeches, they noted the importance of the development of transit and transport potential of Kazakhstan and the synergy of transport and logistics systems in the formation of a new architecture of transcontinental corridors.

In the presentation’s first session representatives of the TITR Association, its regular and associate members (NC Kazakhstan Railways JSC, NC Aktau Sea Commercial Port JSC, KTZ Express JSC, Port Quryq LLC, NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP, Astyk-Trans JSC) highlighted the results of the work conducted since beginning of Association activities in February 2017. In particular, they indicated the results achieved in the enhancement of transportation technology, reducing the cargo delivery time along the TITR and further development strategy. Director General of KTZE-Khorgos Gateway Dry Port, Ibragim Manabayev also acted as a speaker and informed the audience about the results of the company activities for 2019, including 110 block trains, which passed Middle Corridor with the total number of 8158 TEU containers.

In the second session of the event, big Kazakhstan companies – exporters and forwarders represented by Astyk-Trans JSC, YDD Corporation LLP, Tranсo JSC discussed the potential of the country and TITR route (Middle Corridor), possibilities related to cargo deliveries to the European Union markets, Turkey and North Africa. According to the Deputy General Director of Tranco JSC (the official forwarder of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP), Sergey Anashkin, the possibility of using the TITR route for transporting Kazakhstan copper to world markets is currently being studied. Deputy General Director of YDD Corporation LLP, Askhat Zhilbayev, in his speech noted the high efficiency of the TITR route. According to YDD Corporation LLP report, since November 2019, the company began transporting its cargo via Middle Corridor on the leg from Karaganda (Kazakhstan) to the port of Poti (Georgia), where 2 thousand tons of ferrosilicon were transported in 70 containers within 2 months. Continuing the second session work, international experts discussed topical issues in the field of digitalization, development of green ports and electronic data processing. Senior Programme Officer, Energy Security, OSCE, Daniel Kroos and Head of "Marketing & Sales" direction, branch of "NC "KTZ" JSC – "Business Transformation Center", Andrey Klochkov shared with the participants the views and conducting work in the field of digitalization of international transport corridors, including the TITR route.

The event was attended by more than 100 delegates representing the Embassies of 22 countries, including 12 Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassadors in Kazakhstan, 11 international organizations, institutes and chambers of commerce.

The event is serving as an additional impetus for new business networking, highlighting the current status of Middle Corridor as the Trade and Transport Bridge of Europe and Asia and demonstrates the readiness of the TITR route for new offers and projects from transport and logistics companies engaged in trade relations between countries located to the east and west of the Caspian Sea.

Managing Director of Transport Events Ltd., Rory Doyle, who organized the 1st international transport and logistics conference and exhibition Caspian Ports & Shipping in Aktau (Kazakhstan) in 2019, also made a presentation at the event. He shared positive feedback after 1st conference and exhibition in Aktau, which was attended by over 200 delegates, experts from railway, sea, transport and logistics companies from more than 20 countries. Mr. Doyle invited all participants to attend the 2nd Caspian Ports & Shipping 2020 Conference and Exhibition, which will be held in Aktau from April 28 to 30, 2020, emphasizing that this year by the joint efforts of Transport Events Ltd. and TITR Association plan to hold a larger and more ambitious event in the Caspian region.
