September 23-24, 2021, in the city of Baku (Azerbaijan), field sessions of the Working Group and the General Meeting of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" (hereinafter - the Association) were held.
Due to personnel changes that took place in 2021 in TITR member companies, by the decision of the General Meeting the composition of the Managing Board of the Association was changed. Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC" Kazakhstan Railways", Nurlan Sauranbayev was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Managing Board of the Association. General Director and Chairman of the Board of JSC TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. Hasan Pezuk and the Acting Chairman of the management board of JSC “Ukrainian railways” Oleksandr Kamyshin were elected as members of the Managing Board of the Association. In addition, by the decision of the General Meeting, Abdikerimov Gaidar Serikalievich was appointed as the new General Secretary of the Association.
During the work of the sessions, the report of the Association’s performance results for 2020, as well as information on the volumes of cargo transported along the TITR (Middle Corridor) for the first half of 2021 were presented to the participants of the General Meeting. In addition, the participants of the General Meeting made changes and additions to the Charter of the Association, updated the approved tariff rates for 2021, and also adjusted the volume (forecast) of cargo transportation along the TITR route for the current year. Taking into account the quarantine measures introduced everywhere, the Association's marketing plan for 2021 was also updated.
In the context of global digitalization and legal integration, as well as with the aim of entering the global market, the meeting participants were instructed to register the logo and name "Middle Corridor" with the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization. The General Meeting signed the Agreement on the organization of container service with the usage of feeder vessels between the ports of Aktau – Baku/Alyat and the Agreement on interaction and responsibility in providing the organization of cargo transportation as part of container trains along the route TITR.
In addition, the participants of the General Meeting, in order to provide a one-stop-shop service on the TITR route, will consider the possibility of creating a Joint Venture - a single logistics operator on the TITR route until December 1, 2021.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Turkish logistics company Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Diş Ticaret A.Ş. was admitted to the Association as an associate member.
