On 2 August 2024 in the capital of Kazakhstan took place the I meeting of the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Expert Council, organised by the Institute of Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - KISI) in cooperation with the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On behalf of the International Association ‘Trans-Caspian International Transport Route’ (hereafter TITR), Secretary General Gaidar Abdikerimov took part as a speaker and introduced the participants with the current and prospective infrastructural opportunities of the route.

The meeting was focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and development of strategic partnership between the Central Asian countries. Key issues were discussed, including economic interaction, climate change and environmental safety, the role of TITR in the development of transport links and integration within international production and logistics chains.

Strategic priorities of transport policy and the role of TITR in regional cooperation and international supply chains were given specific attention. Secretary General of TITR noted the importance of the route for cargo transportation between Central Asian countries and Europe.

As a result of the event, bilateral meetings were held between representatives of the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and government bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which provided an important basis for strengthening mutual relations and set the foundation for further cooperation.
