Middle Corridor's Green Transformation: Landmark Statement of Collaboration signed at COP29

| News

A Statement of Collaboration (SoC) to promote the Middle Corridor as an environmentally responsible and efficient transportation route was signed at the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) in Baku Azerbaijan, by PSA International (PSA), Global DTC (GDTC), and International Association “TransCaspian International Transport Route” (TITR).

This SoC also aims to make the Middle Corridor digitally integrated to enhance its transparency and accessibility.

The partnership outlines several key initiatives aimed at transforming the Middle Corridor into a "Green Corridor," utilizing digital technologies to optimize operations and reduce environmental impact. GDTC will take the lead in bringing together key stakeholders along the Middle Corridor, with the goal of establishing a sustainable Green Corridor. This will involve processing relevant greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data through GDTC’s platform, leveraging PSA’s OptETracker tool, which will be used to calculate emissions along the route.

TITR will actively encourage its members to contribute to the development of the Green Corridor and facilitate coordination between GDTC and its members to ensure the successful implementation of this initiative. Additionally, GDTC will be able to access the OptETracker tool, which is specifically designed to process GHG emissions data and calculate overall emissions along the Middle Corridor. This will enhance transparency and accountability in emissions reporting, supporting the overall goal of making the corridor more environmentally responsible.

The new collaboration marks a significant step forward in the Middle Corridor’s journey towards becoming a sustainable global transport network. By adhering to international environmental standards and showcasing a steadfast commitment to reducing emissions, the partners position the Middle Corridor as a highly sustainable choice for international trade and transit.

For reference: Global DTC, developer and operator of the DTC Platform, is a technology company from Singapore with resources in Singapore, Caucasus and Central Asia.
