Meetings of the Working Group on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) were held in the city of Shymkent, Kazakhstan on May 30-31, 2024.

During the meetings, the participants of the Working Group on the Development of the TITR discussed the situation regarding the volume of cargo transportation along the TITR route for 4 months of 2024. Since the commissioning of the Kazakh terminal in the city of Xi'an, there has been an increase in container traffic by 70%, as well as a nine-fold increase in the number of container trains traveling from China in the direction of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Europe.

Due to the well-coordinated work of the members of TITR and the International Trans-Caspian Transport Consortium, the geography of container transportation has expanded, new points of cargo origination have appeared in China, such as Chongqing, Yiwu, Sanping, Nanjing, Jinhe. In addition to Absheron, the regions where cargo flows are attracted are Tbilisi, the ports of Batumi and Poti, Istanbul and Constanta.

Today, stable cargo delivery times have been established, according to which the route from Altynkol station to Absheron (Baku) takes 9 days, from Altynkol to Poti or Batumi 12 days, and the route from Altynkol via Poti or Batumi to Constanta takes 20-22 days.

Thus, in may of this year, the number of passed container trains will be more than 30 trains.
