On 21-22 May 2026, the opening ceremonies of the 10th Silk Road International Expo and the China East-West Cooperation and Investment Trade Fair, held under the theme “New Opportunities for Silk Road Integration,” as well as the Global China-Europe Railway Express Cooperation Conference, took place in Xi’an (PRC).
Welcoming speeches at the events were delivered by Peng Qinghua, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China; J. Khodjayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee; Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi Province; Ye Niuping, Mayor of Xi’an; as well as other Chinese and foreign high-ranking representatives.
The event was attended by representatives of the Executive Body and member companies of the TITR Association, including JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy,” CJSC “Azerbaijan Railways,” JSC “NC “Aktau International Sea Commercial Port,” Lianyungang Port Holdings Group, LLP “NMSC “Kazmortransflot,” LLP “Eastcomtrans,” Global DTC Pte LTD, and Xi’an Free Trade Port Construction and Operation Co., Ltd.
During the main session, Deputy Secretary General of the TITR Association Saut Shynybayev delivered a presentation. In his speech, he noted that significant attention is being paid by the leadership of China and the states located along the route to the development of the China-Europe Railway Express, including the TITR route.
According to him, the development of TITR meets the strategic interests of the corridor member states, contributes to sustainable trade growth, and strengthens economic cooperation in the region. Infrastructure projects being implemented and measures undertaken by the route participants to increase its capacity and cargo transportation volumes were also presented.
Presentations were also delivered by representatives of TITR Association member companies, including LLP “Eastcomtrans,” Global DTC Pte LTD, and the Representative Office of CJSC “Azerbaijan Railways” in the PRC, who presented information on ongoing initiatives and activities aimed at the further development of the route.
The event brought together around 400 representatives of ministries and agencies, regional authorities, the diplomatic corps of foreign states in the PRC, academic and business communities, as well as leading logistics companies from China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Austria, Singapore, Uzbekistan, and Russia.
