Astana, September 9, 2025. The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) Association held a working meeting with a delegation from the China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC) at its office in Astana.

The visit of the Chinese delegation was organized under the mandate of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, with the purpose of reviewing the current state of China–Europe rail freight transportation and assessing the potential of the TITR corridor.

Discussions focused on freight volumes and train frequency dynamics, the competitiveness of the TITR route compared to alternative corridors, tariff policies, quota utilization, and existing bottlenecks. Infrastructure development and key hubs were also addressed, including the planned launch of a container hub at the Port of Aktau, measures to reduce transit times, and the adoption of digital cargo-tracking solutions.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen cooperation and undertake joint actions aimed at improving the efficiency of freight flows along the TITR and supporting the sustainable development of China-Europe rail connectivity.
