March 16 - 17, 2021, the first field meetings of the Working Group of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" took place in the city of Istanbul (Turkey).
During the meetings, the report of the Association’s performance results for 2020 was presented to the participants of the Working Group, as well as development plans for 2021. In the final report, despite the difficult conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in general, stable development of the route, as well as an increase in transit container traffic were noted.
The Working Group session participants agreed on the development plans and volumes of cargo transportation via TITR (Middle Corridor), as well as tariff rates for cargo transportation for 2021. The transportation plan on the TITR route for 2021 retains the priority of developing services and increasing the volume of transit container traffic.
As a result of the meeting, in order to fully realize the potential of the TITR route and improve the production and economic indicators of the route participants, the Working Group decided to start developing a TITR development strategy until 2025, which includes the application of clear, consistent and responsible measures on the part of all Middle Corridor participants.
