Regular block train service between Lianyungang in China and Istanbul in Turkey launched on the Middle Corridor
On November 28, 2018, at 15:00 Beijing time the block train has departed from the Kazakh-Chinese logistics terminal in the port of Lianyungang (China).
The train will proceed along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) through China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to its final destination – Istanbul. The first shipment formed by twenty-one FEU container with machinery and equipment, electronics and consumer goods.
According to the plans, frequency of the container shipments from the port of Lianyungang will be carried out regularly – on the 8th, 18th and 28th of every month and will be raised up in the future. Regular container trains from China to Turkey will contribute to the expansion of containerization services, as well as increasing the volume of freight traffic on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
