On November 9-10, 2021, delegates of the International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" (Middle Corridor) visited the Republic of Turkey.
As part of this trip, on November 9, 2021, in the city of Mersin, a meeting was held between representatives of the TITR Association, the Port of Mersin and the TCDD Transportation container terminal. During this meeting, representatives of Middle Corridor provided information on the current state and development plans of the Trans-Caspian international transport route. In addition, the parties discussed issues of further increasing the volume of traffic along the TITR route to the port of Mersin with further access to the Mediterranean Sea region.
Later, on November 10, 2021, in the city of Istanbul, the General Secretary of the TITR Association, Gaidar Abdikerimov, met with the General Director, Chairman of the Board of TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. JSC, Mr. Hasan Pezuk. Within the framework of this meeting, the existing regular transportation on the BTK railway line (Baku-Tbilisi-Kars), the prospects for future transportation of goods in the direction of Turkey - China - Turkey using the TITR infrastructure were discussed. It was noted that the successful implementation of TITR projects became possible thanks to the coordinated work of all interested parties: railway, port, maritime administrations, and logistics companies - participants of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
