Increasing the efficiency of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) discussed in Almaty

June 21-22, 2018, in Almaty (Kazakhstan), an special session of the working group of International Association "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" was held.

During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed regarding the increasing the efficiency of the TITR route (Middle Corridor), specifically the development of cargo transportation along the sea leg (Caspian Sea) of the route, as well as optimization of tariff rates and time of cargoes delivery via TITR (Middle Corridor).

By the decision of the working group of TITR the time of delivery of cargoes on the certain sections of TITR (Middle Corridor), the liaison protocol of the container transportation service on TITR were approved, as well as the tariff rates for container service in China – Turkey/ European countries and in the reverse direction on the route were given further effect. Members of the working group also debriefed the progress report of the Association and the transportation volumes of TITR (Middle Corridor) for 5 months of 2018, where was pointed the 10% increase of the total volume of traffic along the route in comparison with the same period of 2017.

In addition, after the meeting of the working group, on June 23, 2018, the members of the meeting made a planned technical visit to the objects of the SEZ "Khorgos – Eastern Gate", Altynkol railway border station, the "KTZE – Khorgos Gateway" Dry Port and ICBC "Khorgos", where the current information of the infrastructure facilities of the SEZ "Korghos - Eastern Gates" and Altynkol railway border station was presented to the participants of the working group.
